Howdy, all!

As you know, I'm out there checking out all kinds of interesting events, places, people, and things around Portland and beyond. However, a lot of my material doesn't get published, and most of you don't have access to the stuff that does anyway. So, in keeping with the prevailing trends (because I'm ever so trendy), I'm starting up a blog to post some of my photos and stories.

For those of you that were on the distribution list for my Letters Home newsletter last year, you'll find the content something like that, but without the fancy formatting. That is to say, I'll write about whatever's on my mind and post whatever photographs I feel like posting at the time. It won't replace my website (www.MatthewGinn.com) and has nothing to do with my business (www.HomesteadImages.com), although it is possible that both will be referenced from time to time. Postings will be irregular, so keep checking back for new stuff. And if business starts to pick up, my postings might get pretty sporadic—good for me, not so good for the blog. C'est la vie.

I'm going to start by going back through the past year. It might take me a while to catch up to the present, but I'll try to get through it at a reasonable pace—so probably not too much text for a while.

If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to post them or email me. There's a great quote about radio dj's broadcasting into the void ... I can't remember it right now, but it applies to blogging as well: From this desk, I might well be talking to a wall so please, send some feedback from time to time.
